How to check by hand
- Write five questions a customer asks before choosing a business like yours, without your name. For example: “Who’s the best [what you do] in [your city]?”
- Ask each one in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, in a fresh chat with search on.
- Note whether you’re named, in what position, and who is named instead.
- Ask once more by name: “What does [your business] offer?” Check whether the answer matches your website.
Answers change from run to run and between signed-in users, so one check is a snapshot.
